On-Campus Support

Go to the expert

Your instructor has office hours usually posted on the syllabus.  Take advantage of this service by preparing your questions ahead of time and clearly explaining your difficulties to the instructor.  A few minutes may make a huge difference.  Your respectful manner will open many doors.

Counseling Services

Talk to a counselor/advisor if you think you have learning difficulties, test anxiety or other anxieties, etc. AND review your success plan.  Counselors are also available for career decisions and personal issues that get in the way of your success.

Learning Resource Center

Use the specialized tutoring services to get ahead on your learning.

Tutoring-- It's easy to set up a session with a tutor who can show you ways to be more efficient with your studying.  Contact the staff in the Library to schedule an individual or group tutoring session.

Math--Don't try to do math at home if you get stuck and can't continue...this causes frustration.  Get tutoring help by contacting the Student Support Services/Library Staff.  Sometimes a quick explanation is enough to allow you to continue with the assignment and finish!

Study Groups--Group rooms are available around the campus and in the library.  The Library/Student Support Services Staff can provide you with TIPS for starting a study group.

Disability Services

If you think you might have a disability that affects your learning, contact Ann Vidovic, the Disability Coordinator.  You may qualify for accommodations if you have documentation for your disability which may include physical, psychological, or learning disabilities.
